"The Fox Westwood Village"
By Larry Grossman - RetroVisions |
||
Spanish Revival in style, this landmark theatre opened in 1931 in Westwood Village California, just one block from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), and right across the street from the Bruin Theatre. Visible for miles due to it's 170 foot tower, it has for years been the site of countless movie premiers, and continues to be a popular location for these gala events. In the scene I've depicted, one of the most popular movies of all time, the classic 1939 film "Gone With the Wind", starring Clark Gable and Vivian Leigh, is playing. -- L.G. |
